Privacy and refund policy

Who this covers

This site, signalbeforethesystem.com, sells and promotes the book The Signal Before the System by Jalil Ahad. In this policy, "I" and "me" mean Jalil Ahad.

What I collect

Your email address, when you enter it to get the free chapters, save your Signal Check result, or join updates. I also record which form you used.
Payment details are entered on Stripe's checkout page. I never see or store your card number. Stripe shares with me your name, email and the order details.
A small browser setting (local storage) that remembers if you closed a signup pop-up, so it does not keep appearing. It stays on your device.

I do not use advertising trackers or sell your information.

How I use it

To send the free chapters and the welcome email.
To send you the book you purchased and handle any order question.
To send occasional updates about the book. Every update will include a way to unsubscribe.

Who handles your information

I use a few services to run the site. Your information passes through them only to do their job: Stripe (payments), Make (moves signup data to my records), Google (Gmail sends emails; Google Fonts loads the site's typefaces, which means your browser contacts Google) and GitHub (hosts the site). Each has its own privacy policy. I may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email, or email me at thesignalbeforethesystem@gmail.com to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you. I will respond within a reasonable time. I keep order records as long as needed for taxes and bookkeeping.

Children

This site is written for working adults and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect their information.

Refund policy

The book is a digital product delivered immediately after purchase, so all sales are final. The free chapters are available before you buy so you can see the writing first.

If you were charged by mistake, charged twice, or did not receive access to the book, email thesignalbeforethesystem@gmail.com with the email you used at checkout and I will make it right.

Changes

If I change this policy, the date above will change. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
